London Hedge Fund Week

London Hedge Fund Week 2023

London Hedge Fund Week landed in October 2023 bringing together professionals from the investment and finance industry in one of the world's leading financial centers. Taking place in London, this week-long series of events offered a unique platform for hedge fund managers, investors, and service providers to exchange ideas, network, and gain valuable insights into the latest trends and strategies shaping the industry. Attendees participated in panel discussions and keynote speeches led by renowned experts. With the week culminating in a big Friday social - AYU Oktoberfest.

With its diverse range of participants and thought-provoking sessions, London Hedge Fund Week served as a hub of innovation and collaboration, driving the growth and development of the hedge fund ecosystem.

Our hedge fund week highlights were The Digital Asset Fund Forum and AYU Charity Oktoberfest. The AYU Digital Asset Fund Forum, supported by Zodia Custody and Elwood. DAFF brought together a highly concentrated group of experienced investment professionals who are focused on digital assets. Emerging crypto funds connected with family offices entering the space and heard from some of the leading crypto service providers poised to enable success in this rapidly evolving sector.

The forum was kicked off by Blockstone CEO Carl Szantyr with his take on the current resilience of the european market. Our first panel discussed family office cap intro: “Working with, and raising from family offices in the crypto industry”, during which Daniel Page, Cecilia Yu, Patrick Martin and Sam Nallen Copley discussed how emerging funds can engage with private capital.

The second insightful panel on Institutional Custody was contributed to by Zodia Custody Europe CEO, John Cronin, alongside Stephanie Ramezan of Gemini, Stuart Naples of Brevan Howard, Robert Gaskell of Appold, and Oya Celiktemur of Jacobi Asset Management. We then heard a fascinating discussion on the Crypto Fund of Funds’ role in growth with more from Carl Szantyr, Peter Rigg of Aaro Capital and Barry Thomas of Forteus.

The day was concluded with the AYU Pitch off presented by GoQuant. 3 pitches, one mic, and 4 mins of questioning from our panel of judges. The pitchers were pioneers in the digital asset space; many congratulations to María Guinda Pérez, CIO of Whale Capital for winning the AYU Pitch off with her compelling presentation.

The AYU Oktoberfest landed once again in Battersea Park, on October 13th 2023. Fires were lit and steins were poured as professionals from the London alts industry and beyond joined us for a social evening to mark the end of London Hedge Fund Week. An autumnal gathering of family offices, hedge funds, service providers and wider institutional investors connected in the AYU Tipis.
